Kate Losenno always knew she would need aortic valve replacement. She was born with a bileaflet aortic valve, and her heart condition played a major part in her decision to go to medical school and become a cardiologist. Her medical background also gave her more insight into the heart valve replacement options that would be best for her, which led her to choose the Ross Procedure. Since her surgery in June 2014, Kate quickly resumed her hobbies – running, snowboarding, and competing in triathlons.
